Three Services, Done Well
What We Do at Pendulaire
We keep our services focused — movement cleaning, gasket renewal, bracelet adjustment. Each one is performed attentively from intake to collection.
← Back to HomeOur Approach to Every Service
Each watch that comes to Pendulaire follows the same process regardless of the service requested. It begins with assessment — we look at the watch, note its condition, and discuss findings before anything is opened or adjusted.
From there, each service type follows its own defined steps. We don't improvise, and we don't proceed beyond what was agreed at intake. The watch is returned with a brief explanation of what was done and, where applicable, documentation of the outcome.
Standard Process for All Services
Intake and condition logging — visual inspection and documentation
Assessment discussion with client — findings shared before proceeding
Service performed to agreed scope — no undisclosed additions
Quality check and documentation completed before client is contacted
Collection with brief explanation of work and care advice
Service 01
Movement Cleaning and Regulation
The most comprehensive service we offer. When a movement has drifted in accuracy, winds sluggishly, or shows a shorter power reserve than expected, it typically needs a full clean and fresh lubrication. The movement is disassembled to component level, cleaned in a multi-stage ultrasonic bath, and inspected for wear that might not be visible during normal use. Correct lubricants are applied to every friction point, and the balance is regulated across six positions before a settling period allows the performance to stabilise.
What the Service Includes
- Full movement disassembly
- Multi-stage ultrasonic cleaning of all components
- Component-level wear inspection
- Movement-appropriate lubrication at all friction points
- Six-position regulation with electronic timing machine
- Timing certificate issued on completion
Service 02
Case Back and Gasket Service
A watch's case back gasket is the primary barrier between the movement and its environment. In Penang's humid, coastal conditions, gaskets degrade faster than they might in a drier climate — and the consequences of a failed seal can be significant. This service addresses the gasket directly: we remove the case back with appropriate tools, measure the existing gasket, source a correctly-sized replacement, clean the case back thread, and retorque to specification.
What the Service Includes
- Careful case back removal with appropriate tools
- Gasket measurement and replacement with correct-specification part
- Case back thread cleaning
- Retorquing to specification — not hand-tightened by feel
- Inspection of case back condition and threading
Service 03
Clasp and Bracelet Adjustment
A bracelet that doesn't fit properly affects how a watch wears and can accelerate wear on the clasp and deployment mechanism. We size bracelets to your measured wrist — not approximately, but to the link count and, where the clasp allows, to the fine-adjustment position that suits you. We handle link removal and addition, pin replacement, clasp tightening, and cleaning of metal bracelets. Removed links are returned to you.
What the Service Includes
- Wrist measurement and link count assessment
- Link removal or addition to achieve correct fit
- Clasp tightening and pin replacement where needed
- Metal bracelet cleaning
- Fold-over, butterfly, and diver extension clasps all serviced
- Removed links returned with the watch

How We Work Across All Services
Security and Privacy
Watches are stored individually in a locked cabinet when not being actively worked on. All items require client identification to release.
Performance Standards
Regulated movements are measured against COSC-adjacent tolerances as a quality reference. Results are documented before the client is contacted for collection.
Client Communication
We contact clients by phone or email when their watch is ready. If something unexpected arises during service, we contact before proceeding.
Service Documentation
Movement services include a timing certificate. All services are logged in the workshop record with intake condition notes and work performed.
Methodology
We follow established watchmaking practice — no shortcuts in cleaning cycles, no improvised lubrication, no omission of the settling period in regulation.
Care Guidance at Collection
On collection, we share any relevant care notes — winding habits, service interval suggestions, or environmental considerations specific to the watch.
