1. Definitions

"Service" refers to any watch repair or maintenance work performed by Pendulaire, including movement cleaning and regulation, case back and gasket service, and clasp and bracelet adjustment.

"Client" refers to the person who deposits a watch for service or engages with Pendulaire via this website or telephone.

"We / Us / Pendulaire" refers to the workshop operating as Pendulaire, at 7 Jalan Dhoby, 10200 George Town, Penang, Malaysia.

"Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions, together with any service scope confirmed at intake.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a contact form on this website, depositing a watch at the workshop, or requesting a service by telephone, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and that you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you are depositing a watch on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

3. Service Description

Pendulaire offers three defined services: movement cleaning and regulation (MYR 1,650), case back and gasket service (MYR 480), and clasp and bracelet adjustment (MYR 450). Service descriptions and inclusions are as published on this website. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit and are subject to change without notice, except where a price has been confirmed to you in writing for a specific engagement.

Services are available to clients who are able to present the watch in person at the workshop in George Town, Penang. We do not currently offer postal or courier intake.

4. Pre-Service Assessment

A pre-service condition assessment is available at no charge. We will describe our findings before any work begins. No service proceeds without the client's agreement. If additional issues are identified during service that were not visible during the initial assessment, we will contact the client before proceeding with any work beyond the original scope.

5. Intake and Identification

Watches deposited for service are logged on arrival with a condition note. A reference number is issued at intake. Watches will only be released to the person who deposited them, or to a person presenting valid written authorisation and identification. Pendulaire is not liable for release to a person who presents fraudulent authorisation.

6. Turnaround Times

Estimated turnaround times are provided at intake and are given as working days. They are estimates, not guarantees. Movement cleaning and regulation is typically 7–10 working days. Gasket service is typically 1–3 working days. Bracelet adjustment is typically same day. If a service is likely to take longer than estimated, we will notify the client.

7. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for providing accurate information about the watch's history and any known faults at intake. The client is responsible for collecting the watch within 30 days of being notified that it is ready. Watches not collected after 60 days may, at our discretion, be treated as abandoned.

  • Provide accurate watch history at intake
  • Collect the watch promptly when notified
  • Inspect the watch at the point of collection and raise any concerns immediately

8. Payment Terms

Payment is due in full at the point of collection. We accept cash and major bank transfers. Card payment is available in the workshop. No advance deposit is required. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). If a service produces findings that would change the cost, we will communicate this before proceeding and obtain agreement before continuing.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, descriptions, and design — is the property of Pendulaire. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any content from this website without written permission.

10. Disclaimers

Watch repair is a skilled trade, but not an exact science. We cannot guarantee that a watch will achieve specific timekeeping tolerances after service. Our regulation standard is to bring the watch within an acceptable range, documented in the timing certificate. We are not liable for pre-existing faults that become apparent during service and were not visible at intake.

Watches are handled with care, but Pendulaire cannot accept liability for damage resulting from pre-existing material fatigue, undisclosed prior repairs, or conditions that were not apparent on intake inspection.

11. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the cost of the service performed. We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or incidental losses arising from any service or from the use of this website. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

12. Dispute Resolution

We encourage clients to raise any concerns directly with us first. In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved informally, these Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Penang, Malaysia.

13. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with a "Last updated" date. Continued use of this website or our services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
